Pauline M. Tate, age 94, longtime resident of Troy, OH passed away on February 23, 2024 at Koester Pavilion surrounded by family.  She was born on April 5, 1929 in Lowell, OH to the late Andrew Thomas and Alice (Henniger) Forshey.  She was married to Dr. Carl Ellsworth Tate and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1999.

She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law: Randy and Lori Tate of Jackson, MI; Suzanne Tate of Tampa, FL and Barb (Fred) Calim of Jackson Center; daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Tim Martin of West Milton; grandchildren: Jenn (Eric) Myers, Sarah (Steve) Gustavson, Tish (Ben) Dehus, Heather (Matt) Hollon, Andy Tate, Lizzie (Steve) Galluzzi, Nick Tate, Jeff Tate, and Allison Tate; great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Olivia, Max, Evie, Sophie, Jackson, Aiden, Ethan, Grant, Waylon, Zane, Cici, Wally, Teddy and Augie; nephew: Doug (Linda) Scheiderer and great niece and nephew: Tiffany and Greg Scheiderer. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her sons: Jeffrey and Rick Tate and sister: Lelia Scheiderer.

Pauline was a 1947 graduate of Newark High School.  She was a longtime owner and operator of Pauline's Tea Room and Catering in Troy.  She was a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church in Tipp City where she started the FLOW (Faithful, Love, Outreach Worship) lunch and bible study.  She was a former Sunday School teacher, choir member and lay leader with Troy First United Methodist Church and a 72 year member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with a service to follow at 7:00PM.  A family graveside service will take place in Wilson Cemetery, Newark, OH.
