Obituary

Paul E. Yantis, age 72, of Troy, Ohio died at 1:00AM, Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. Paul was born in Troy, Ohio on July 12, 1937 to the late Glen and Lucille Trent Yantis. Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy whom he married May 23, 1958 in West Carrollton, Ohio; a son, Mark Roz Yantis and a daughter, Tonya Don Nuss; four grandchildren, Emily and Alexander Yantis, and Victoria and Kara Nuss all of Troy, Ohio; sisters, Mary Frost of Tipp City, Ohio, Ruby Pelfrey of Huber Heights, Ohio; brothers, Dick Mona Yantis of Piqua, Ohio; half brothers, Jack Diana Yantis and Ronald Sharon Yantis and half sister, Dorothy Shoup of Huntington Beach, California plus cousins and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Paul in death was a dear son, Duane M. Yantis, his parents, his stepmother, Verna Taylor Yantis; sisters, Helen Dunn, Doloris Wilkinson, and infant sister, Marguerite Yantis; brothers, Bobby, Lawrence, and Joe Yantis and stepbrother, Richard Badgley. Paul was a graduate of Miami Central High School in 1956 where he was active in the Agriculture Club all during high school. After high school, he worked at NCR in the stock and transportation department where he was certified in the C52 Register construction and also was a certified operator of aerial lifts. He received his diploma from the Knotts School of Auctioneering. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Chuch and a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #14 F. & A.M. in Troy, Ohio. He served as Worthy Patron of Troy Eastern Star #256, was very active with the Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and was awarded their Grand Cross of Color. He was also active in the Bethel Grange where he received his 25 year pin. Paul was a US Army veteran. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 10:00AM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II officiating. Interment will be in the Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Friends may call on the family Wed. from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Masonic Services will take place Wed. at the funeral home 6:45PM with Eastern Star services to follow.
