Paul "Buffy" Frederick Thase Paul "Buffy" Frederick Thase, age 64, of Casstown, Ohio, died at 5:55PM on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, ER. He was born September 8, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Paul Henry and Lois Jean Thirkield Thase. His wife of 24 years, Jacqueline E. Drees Thase, survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Amy L. Thase of Piqua and companion Jason Jacomet; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Connie Thase of St. Paris, Ohio; brother-in-law: Jeff and Linda Drees with niece Jeanna and nephew Aaron of Celina, Ohio; brother-in-law, Chris Drees of Coldwater, Ohio; sister-in-law: Julia and David Barker; niece Nikki Thase King and husband Deron; two great nieces: Betsy and Darien King; and special family friend, Betty. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thase was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Thase. He was a 1963 Graduate of Troy High School; a member of First United Methodist Church, Troy; former hockey coach; former youth leader at Troy Baptist Temple; played hockey for Dayton GEMS; and he was known as Sammy Sabre for the Troy Sabre Hockey Club. He Loved God, country, family, friends, and Nascar. Mr. Thase worked for 43 years at Hobart Corp. He also worked at McCauly, Miami East Schools, and Riverside. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church, Troy, with the Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II officiating.
