Patricia May Waters, 71, of Desert Hot Springs California died at her home, September 23,2001. She was born January 8, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio, the second daughter of May Westfall and William R. McCurdy. She began schooling in Miami Co. Ohio, first at Staunton Township then moving to Troy for High School, graduating with the Class of 1947. She then attended The Ohio State University two years. An interest in banking led her to New York City in 1950 and then to the Los Angeles California area in 1952 and she has remained in that locale. She enjoyed a 22 year association with the Security Pacific National Bank of Los Angeles as a computer technical analyst. Then she worked 12 years for the San Diego County Welfare in Escondido. She married Richard Waters August 1, 1965. They have owned and operated Richards Fine Art and Framing Gallery in Desert Hot Springs the past 23 years. Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, a sister Margaret Vesper of Troy, Ohio and two nieces, Leslie Vesper of Burlington Colorado and Mrs. Joseph Julia Potter of Troy, Ohio. Her parents and a beloved nephew William C. Vesper preceded her in death. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday Sept 26 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Desert Hot Springs and interment was in Desert Memorial Park near Palm Springs, California. A receiving of local family and friends will be held Wednesday October 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Baird Funeral Home. The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions can be of the donor's choice.
