Patricia R. Schlater, of Vandalia, OH, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH.  She was born on March 17, 1939, in Coldwater, OH, to the late Gregory and Monica (Kaup) Gross.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 60 years: Melvin L. Schlater; three children: Tim (Lori) Schlater of Ludlow Falls, OH, Michael (Cheryl) Schlater and Anne (Mark) Pearson, both of Cincinnati, OH; six siblings: Betty (Jerry) Tonner of FL, John (Carol) Gross of Troy, OH, Mike (Betty) Gross of Tipp City, OH, Chuck (Marian) Gross of VA, Marlene (Dave) Fink of TX and Mark (Debbie) Gross of Coldwater, OH; seven grandchildren: Shannon Clark, Sean Schlater, Andrew, Lauren and Jacob Pearson, and Isabella and Gabriella Schlater; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Vernon Gross.

Patricia was a 1957 graduate of Coldwater High School and a graduate of St. Rita's School of Nursing.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, OH.  Patricia was a registered nurse and was employed at Dettmer Hospital, Upper Valley Medical Center and Dr. S. W. Lee cardiology practice.  She loved antiques, gardening and especially her grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 409 East Main Street, Troy, OH, with Fr. Eric Bowman as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 101 Riverside Drive, Troy, OH.  Family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:30 AM on Thursday at Baird Funeral Home, 555 North Market Street, Troy, OH.
