Orville "Gene" Addis, age 96, of Troy, OH, passed away on January 12, 2026 at StoryPoint Troy. He was born on July 20, 1929 in Pikeville, KY, to the late Elzy and Minnie (White) Addis.

Gene is survived by his children: Pam (Steven) Bornhorst of Troy, and Kim (Matt) Andrews of Troy; grandchildren: Erica, Derek, Jamie, Stefanie, Brittany, Adam, Jake and Leah; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years: Jacqueline Addis; three brother: James Paul, Donald and Chester Addis; and one sister: Shelby Kinch.

Gene proudly served our country as a member of the US Air Force. He was a graduate of Belfry, KY, High School. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. He was a meat manager at A & P Supermarkets for 30 years. Gene was an investor and businessman. He did lawn care, maintenance and was caretaker for FHA. Gene also bought and managed rental properties. He was an avid sports fan.  He loved playing basketball, watching his grandchildren play sports and watching Alabama football.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Bachman officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy at a later date.
