Opal E. Richardson, age 87, of Troy, OH passed away on June 30, 2023 at Dayspring of Miami Valley in Fairborn, OH. She was born on March 16, 1936 in Staffordsville Barnetts Creek, Johnson County, KY to the late William R. and Virgie L. (Sturgill) Reynolds.
She is survived by her children: Stephen E. (Deborah) Richardson of Troy, Charles A. (Gaylyn) Richardson of Tipp City; Cynthia A. Richardson of West Milton; Gregory D. (Elizabeth Arthur) Richardson of St. Paris and Kelly S. (Richard Reynolds) Reynolds of Xenia; siblings: Sara Eaves of Tampa, FL, Barbara (Ray Jr.) McKenzie of Medway and Patsy Rowland of Mansfield; a plethora of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: John, Tom, Harvey, Jim, Gigi, Joe, Eula and Bob.
Opal was formerly affiliated with the Russell Road Church in Sidney. She formerly worked with DARE Corporation, retired from BF Goodrich Company after many years of service and was a longstanding member of the UAW Union in Troy. She enjoyed ceramics and macrame and in her younger years, she was an avid singer with her sisters. She loved the outdoors along with her garden and pond.
Services will be held at 12:30PM on July 7, 2023 at the Mid-County Church of Christ in Troy. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00AM - 12:30PM at the church.
