Norris C. Kessler Norris C. Kessler, formerly of Troy, Ohio, and more recently of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007, at the Cyprus Village Nursing Home in Jacksonville. He was born December 12, 1914, in Troy, Ohio, to the late Clarence C. and Rowena Wampler Kessler. He married Mary E. Miller Kessler on July 22, 1972. He is survived by his wife, two children: daughter, Sophie B. Beverly Ann Kessler of Altadena, CA and son, Terry L. Kessler of Troy, OH; two stepsons: Don E. Peters of Atlantic Beach, FL and David A. Peters of Medina, OH; sister, Elaine Haines of Port Angeles, WA; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma V. May Kessler in December of 1970. Norris Kess was employed by Hobart Corporation for 43 years and retired in 1980 as a regional sales manager. He was very involved in the work of the First Baptist Church of Troy, Ohio. He was chairman of many committees of the church during his lifetime. He also played an important part as Chairman of Finance in building the new church at its present location. Norris was an active member in Miami County Camp of Gideons International. He was also Past Master of Mt. Olivet #226 Masonic Lodge, Christiansburg, OH, member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and Antioch Shrine of Dayton. Celebration of Life will be at 2:00PM Friday, September 14, 2007, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Douglas E. Peters officiating. Interment will be at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, OH. Friends may call from 5-8PM Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic Services by Mt. Olivet Lodge, Christiansburg, OH, will be held at 7:30PM during the visitation.
