NORMA DORIS POLLEY

NORMA DORIS POLLEY, age 89, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Troy, OH, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 in Louisville, KY.  She was born on July 27, 1925 in Lewis County, KY to the late Charles Martin and Lydia Agnes (Carpenter) Dillon.  Norma was married to Frealyn Eugene Polley.  He preceded her in death on July 23, 1990.

Norma is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and John Kline of Frankfurt, KY, Elaine and Bill Rumpler of Hamilton, OH and Carmelia and Nick Fox of Troy, OH; three sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Debby Polley of Nicholasville, KY, Wendell and Donna Polley of Louisville, KY and Duane Polley of Troy, OH; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son: Frealyn Polley, Jr.; one daughter: Thelma Sharon Polley; and two brothers and three sisters:  Thomas and Wilburn, Margaret Castle, Thelma Kirkland and Lydia Meryl Dillon.

Norma was a former member of Troy Gospel Tabernacle in Troy, OH.  Norma previously worked for the Fleming Co. Rural Electric Co-op and the Georgetown, KY Hospital.  But, most of all, she enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and making her home a place to be enjoyed by all.  She was a fantastic cook, with most of the recipes being her very own and filed away in her memory.  If you have had the great pleasure of enjoying her yeast rolls, pies, fried chicken or potato salad, you know what I mean.  One would only hope to have her kind and loving spirit, which will live in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Troy Gospel Tabernacle, 336 Ellis Street, Troy, OH with Pastor Erv Holland officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
