Newell H. Christopher Sr., age 77 of Troy died Monday, April 2, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur and brother, Oren. He is survived by his mother, Pearl Shuck Christopher; his wife, Wyrtus L. Medlock; his sons and daughter-in-law, Newell Jr. and Joe and Pam Klatte; daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lou and Brad Bemus; sister, Lila Lou Needham and grandchildren, J.C. and Kevin Klatte; Jordan Christopher; Benjamin, Andrew and Elizabeth Bemus. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church; member of the Miami Valley Golf Club and Hobart Quarter Century Club. He was a US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and served as a hydrolic instructor. He was retired from Hobart Manufacturing Co. and Whirlpool Co. and currently owner of Christopher Associates Inc.
