Obituary

Naomi V. Haaga, 93, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the Koester Pavilion Nursing Center in Troy, Ohio. She was born on July 5, 1910 in Troy, Ohio to the late Korah and Fannie Mae Booher Waymire. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Louis Frederick Haaga on April 19, 1988 after 54 years of marriage. She is also preceeded by her son, Bruce Haaga; granddaughter, Elizabeth Haaga; and two sisters, Beatrice and Ruth. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Karen Norbert McKee of Troy, Ohio; sons and daughters-in-laws; James Mary K. Haaga of Tipp City, Ohio and Dr. John Ellen Haaga of Cleveland, Ohio. Also a daughter-in-law, Sandra Haaga of Troy, Ohio. Along with her children and their spouses survivng, are a sister-in-law; Carolyn Cruea of Troy, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. She has eight grandchildren; Robert McKee; Ronald Megan MeKee; James Jr. Robin Haaga; Robert Barbara Haaga; Michael Jennifer Haaga; Matthew, Timothy and Rebecca Haaga. Also three great-grandchildren, Erin, Emily and Madelyn Haaga. She was the founding member of Literacy Council and help found the Strawberry Festival Vesper Choir and belonged to many church choirs and organizations. She was an adopted Mother to a Vietnam family through the Methodist Church. She wrote many poems and some were published in the local paper. And she was well know for her letters to the Editor for strong causes, and was very community minded. She graduated from Staunton High School in 1929. She was a former beautician and real estate agent. Burial will be in the Polk Grove Cemetery in Vandalia, Ohio. Contributions can be made to the Koester Foundation.
