Nancy Lee Studebaker Smith
Nancy Lee Studebaker Smith, age 88, of Troy, OH passed away on July 7, 2022 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Facility in Troy while surrounded by her loving family as she fell asleep and wakened to the heart of God. She was born on January 20, 1934 in Union, Ohio to the late Stanley and Zelma (Roth) Studebaker.
Nancy is survived by her two children: Alison Henson (Carl) Bucchi of Englewood, OH and Phil (Rhoda) Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren: Whitney Henson of Dayton, OH; Nicole Henson (Alex) Pedraza of England and Holly Smith and Abby Smith both of Pittsburgh, PA; six siblings: Mary Ann Mishler (Robert) Cornell of Greenville, OH; Lowell Studebaker of TN; Linda (Rod) Post of WA; Ron (Kathy) Studebaker of Ashville, OH; Gary (Susan) Studebaker of CA; Doug (Julie) Studebaker of Columbus, OH; sister-in-law: Pakdy of Australia and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ted Studebaker. She truly enjoyed weekly Zoom calls and annual Bed and Breakfast gatherings across the country with her loving siblings.
Nancy attended Milton Union High School, Manchester College and Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She retired after 21 years of service with Stouder Memorial Hospital as an X-Ray and Radiation Therapy Technician.
Nancy was a person who expressed a deep interest and appreciation for all people and sincerely believed that we are called to love people and not judge them. She had a tender heart and loving soul. Nancy was a tiny little lady with a great big heart.
Nancy was an active member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy. She loved her church and her involvement in the shut-in visitation ministry. She was a life-long learner and also practiced a healthy lifestyle and daily exercise. Nancy's other enjoyments included constant travel, bird watching and spending time with her many friends and family. She enjoyed volunteering at Hayner Cultural Center, Brukner Nature Center and The Schuster Performing Arts Center for many years. She met monthly with church friends, golf friends, card club, friends from Stouder and her high school classmates.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy, Ohio on Saturday, July 16, at 1:00pm with Rev. Don Crist officiating.
