Nancy Kathryn Gretzinger, age 72, passed away on December 5, 2023, in Scottsdale, AZ with her daughter and niece by her side.  She was born November 4, 1951, in Frankfort, KY to the late Ralph E. and Martha J. Gretzinger.

Nancy will be missed by her daughter "Meg", Mary E. Gretzinger of Tempe, AZ, who she adopted from China.  Meg was the joy of Nancy's life.  She is also survived by a brother: Ralph E. (Beverly) Gretzinger of Dallas, TX; a sister: Mary E. Clevenger of Troy, OH; Nieces: Katie (Jim) Crotty of Scottsdale, AZ, and Sarah (Adam) Frank of Dallas, TX; nephews: John (Laura) Clevenger of Glenmoore, PA, and Ned Gretzinger of Kemp, TX; and cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother: John "Jack" A. Gretzinger; a sister-in-law: Jewel R. Gretzinger; a brother-in-law: Carl "Doug" D. Clevenger; and a niece: Rebecca Gretzinger.

Nancy was a 1970 graduate of Troy High School.  She earned her BS in Education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1974, her Masters in 1976 from Wright State University and a Doctorate of Education in 1990 from Northern Arizona State University.  Her life long career in education included teaching at the elementary level, administration and teaching at the collegiate level.  After retiring she continued her desire to help children as a CASA volunteer.  Nancy enjoyed playing cards, games, making wreaths and greeting cards.

Services will be graveside at Riverside Cemetery at 11:00 AM on December 29, 2023, followed by an Open House at her sister's house, 1252 N. Market Street, Troy, OH 45373 to share memories, tears and laughter.
