MICHAEL WILLIAM "MIKEY" VERNAU, age 27, of Findlay passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at his residence.  He was born on August 27, 1988 in Newark, OH to Jay and Mary (Cindric) Vernau.

In addition to his parents, Mikey is survived by his maternal grandmother: Catherine A. Cindric of Avon Lake; paternal grandmother: Josephine Vernau of Newark; brother: Maximilian L. Vernau of Ft. Worth, TX; uncles: Steve, Tom, Pete, Paul and Adam; aunts: Teresa, Lisa and Belinda; survived and loved by many cousins and his special furry companion: Slimey.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Donald H. Vernau and maternal grandfather: William L. Cindric.

Mikey was a 2006 graduate of Troy High School.  He received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Bowling Green State University and his Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Findlay.  He was an avid baseball player and fan.  He was a huge follower of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.  Mikey loved to skateboard and play Fantasy Football.  He was a Lead Sales Consultant with Best Buy in Findlay.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with eulogy by Dwight Caudill.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the funeral home.  Private burial will be held at a later date in Newark, OH.
