MELVIN R. ADKINS

MELVIN R. ADKINS, age 77, of Troy, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.  He was born on March 4, 1938 in Chauncey, WV to the late Penbrook and Ella Victoria (Queen) Adkins.  His wife of 28 years, Judy (Mason) Adkins, survived.

Melvin is also survived by three children: Annette Adkins of Dayton, Christopher Adkins and Jason Simons, both of Troy; five siblings: Ruby Moore of Logan, WV, Arlene (Ron) Klump of Milwaukee, WI, Liz Ferguson of Piqua, Minnie Stewart and Linda (Lewis) Rolando, both of Murrieta, CA; and one sister-in-law: Millie Adkins of West Milton.  In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by four brothers: Buck, Dannie, Earl and Arvil Adkins.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton.  Arrangements are being handled by Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
