MELISSA E. "Missy" DOWNING, age 47, of Union, OH; formerly of Troy passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her residence.  She was born on November 18, 1966 in Troy, OH.

She is survived by her mother: Diane K. (Browning) Brandt of Troy; daughters and sons-in-law: Tabbitha (Shaeffer) and Richard Haney of Troy; Brandie (Shaeffer) and James Boos of San Antonio, TX; and son: Vance "Tippy" Downing of Troy; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Kimberly (Smith) and Michael Behrens of Troy and Cassandra (Smith) and Jamie Crotinger of Troy; granddaughter: Juliet Boos; second husband: Micheal Downing of Troy; longtime companion: Jeff Fee of Union; special nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; best friend: Mary Ann Claypool Watren of Troy; and special pet bird: "Shortie".

Melissa was preceded in death by her grand- parents; father: Larry Russell Smith; stepfather: Herbert K. "Herb" Brandt; son: Michael Anthony Downing; and her dog: Cleo.

She attended the Troy Schools.  She attended the First Baptist Church in Union, OH.
