Obituary

Melba "Babe"  Schisler, 91 of Troy, Ohio died Saturday February 1, 2014 at Koester Pavilion in Troy. She was born February 22, 1922 in Butler Co., to the lateWilliam and Anna (Fogarty) Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dean  Schlisler, a son Rick and four sisters; Marie (Ward) Cobaugh, Dorothy (Eugene) Shoemaker, Marjorie A. Thompson, and Jean (Doug) Anderson; niece Joyce Ellis. Melba is survived by her sister Elaine Thompson of Troy; Nieces Karen (Jim) Black) of New Carlisle and Judy (Vern) Campbell of St. Paris; Nephews Tim(Belinda)Anderson of Covington, Keith (Susie) Anderson of Circleville and Mike Anderson of Kettering; Numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She liked fishing and camping at Grand Lake St. Marys. She also enjoyed reading and working puzzles. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with the Pastor James E. Leighty officiating. Burial will follow at Casstown Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00AM until the time of the service. The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Koester Pavilion and Hospice of Miami County for the care she received. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County PO Box 502 Troy, Ohio45373.
