Maureen Agnes Schutte, age 79, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.  She was born on October 8, 1944, in Dayton, to the late Michael and Katherine (Sifferman) Falvey.  Maureen married Dale H. Schutte. Dale and Maureen met at a sock hop at Our Lady of Mercy in 1958. Married in 1963 at Corpus Christi Church, Dayton, OH...61 years of marriage! They spent a total of 65 years journeying through life together.

Maureen is also survived by four children: Gregory (Carla) Schutte of Springfield and Douglas (Sonya) Schutte, Brenda (Andrea Lively) West and Debbie (Linda Simpson) Smith, all of Troy; ten grandchildren: Shawn, Clarissa, Ryan, Brandon, Kaitlin, Graham, Sarah, Chelsea, Jamie and Lauren; and nine great grandchildren: Lilly, Hayden, Harlen, Manual, Mateo, Valentina, Adrianna, Kialynn and Brennan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven sisters: Patricia Henn, Mary Zimmerman, Virginia Frankenburger, Rita Falvey, Theresa McCray, Delores Spiwak and Ruth Shank; and one grandson: Samuel Schutte.

Maureen was a graduate of Julienne High School in Dayton.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Fr. Callan as Celebrant.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.  Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
