Matthew David Dempsey, 30, of Piqua, Ohio, formerly of Troy, Ohio died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 in Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his parents, David L. and Deborah K. Chronabery Dempsey of Bechtelsville, PA; paternal grandparents, James and Shirley Dempsey of Boyertown, PA, formerly of Troy, OH; maternal grandpaents, A. ''Sy'' and Bernice Symans of Troy, Ohio; sister, DeAnne Rae Brown; half sister, Melody Richardson; niece and nephew, Jordan Matthew Brown and Hailey Johanna Brown and companion, Tara Franklin and her daughter, Victoria Teague. Mr. Dempsey attended St. Mary's Catholic Church, Piqua, Ohio, was active in the local softball and bowling leagues, playing on the Lavey Constructon Team and coaching youth basketball. Matthew was a masonary constructon worker with Lavey Construction Co., Piqua, Ohio A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, September 21, 2002 at the Barid Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio.
