Matthew Shawn Bowers, age 53, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Troy Rehabilitation and Healthcare.  He was born in Springfield on July 29, 1971, to the late William and E. Christine (Wilson) Bowers.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara C. "Barbi" (Palmer) Bowers; son: Isaac (Carmen) Bowers, Ethan (Alissa) Palmer, Eli Palmer, Evan Bowers and Andrew Bowers; siblings: William (Peggy) Bowers; Rhonda (Gordan) Mann; sister-in-law: Linda Bowers; three grandchildren: Hazel, Peyton and Colson; friend: Sheri Moore; many nieces and nephews; and extended family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Randy Bowers.

He loved music and was a former guitarist with the band, Scrog.
