Marylou Tompkins Echevarria Marylou Tompkins Echevarria of Troy, Ohio died Friday November 12, 2010 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was born on August 19, 1966 in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, to William Tompkins, Sr. and Belen Rivera Tompkins. She married her husband, Rafael Echevarria, in 1994 and he survives. They have two daughters together, Mahalia and Maria, who are both still living at home and a stepson, 1st Lt. Rafael J. Echevarria, US Army, stationed in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Marylou is also survived by her mother, Belen Rivera Tompkins of Troy, a sister, Jane Tompkins Swope of Troy, her brother and sister-in-law, William A. Tompkins, Jr. Leigh of Vandalia, niece Samantha Swope, nephews Jordan and Alex Tompkins, and extended loving family from Puerto Rico, California, Ohio, and the Philippines. She is preceded in death by her father, William Tompkins. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Sinclair Community College and was a registered nurse at Upper Valley Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Grandview Hospital. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy and was the head of the Filipino Committee at the Festival of Nations. An Evening Funeral Mass will be held Thursday November 18, 2010 at 7:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. James Duell presiding. Graveside services will be the following day at 11:00AM Friday November 19, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call on the family Thursday November 18, 2010 from 2:00 PM-6:30 PM at the Parrish center of St. Patrick's Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Marylou's memory to her Childrens' education fund through MainSource Bank. Friends may express condolences to the family through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
