Mary Bess Worley Zink Mary Bess Worley Zink, 88, of Fultonville, New York died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, New York. She was born August 20, 1921 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Perry and Edna Staley Worley. Mary Bess married Robert Zink in 1943. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ted Connie Freeman, Fultonville, New York; two sons, Michael Zink and Dennie Lee Zink of Dayton; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Barton, Houston, Texas. Mrs. Zink was a long time resident of Troy, Ohio and an alumna of Troy High School then Van Cleve. She was a graduate of Miami Jacobs Business College and a former employee of Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In 1968 Mr. and Mrs. Zink opened MBZ Craft Studio and a craft distribution company a year later. Mrs. Zink not only managed the store, but taught craft classes, became a designer, demonstrator, and also did a lot of custom work. In 1986 Mr. and Mrs. Zink sold MBZ Craft Studio, but Mrs. Zink continued custom work. Mr. Zink preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Zink remained very active after retirement. She continued consulting, designing, and teaching for many years. She served as Chaplain, chaired the crafts program, and filled other voluntary posts at the Troy Senior Center. She was also active in scouting; was president of the Lady Elks and the Troy Alturian Club and volunteered at the county safety building. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30AM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev Fr. James Duell officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
