Mary Margaret Schaeffer Mary Margaret Schaeffer, age 83, of Swanton, Ohio, formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at her residence. She was born on November 22, 1926 in Miami County, Ohio to the late Roy Oliver and Janetta Stager Berry. Her husband, Kenneth J. Schaeffer, preceded her in death on July 15, 1989. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Kathy Schaeffer of Casstown, Ohio, Elmer and Deborah Schaeffer of Piqua, Ohio, Dean and Shirley Schaeffer of Troy, Ohio, David and Kathy Schaeffer of Swanton, Ohio, Robert and Diane White of Troy, Ohio, and Bill Phillipi of Kentucky; daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Ken Besecker of Troy, Ohio and Eva and Mike Giddinge of Las Vegas, Nevada; twenty-one grandchildren: Tammy Hagemeyer, Mark and Matt Schaeffer, Jonathon, Mike, Chris and Stephanie Giddinge, Jason and Keith Schaeffer, Heidi Henkes, Kristy Akemon, Renee Mendenhall, Billy, Jeremiah and Dan Schaeffer, Bethany Fosburg and Angie, Jessica, Miranda, Tiffany and Nicholas Schaeffer; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She will be missed by her miniature dachshund, Shorty. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Schaeffer was preceded in death by two sons: Bernie and Billy Schaeffer; three brothers, Raymond, Floyd and Robert Berry; and two sisters: Reba Champlin and Freda Burnside. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and the Troy Senior Citizens Center. Services will be held at 10:30AM on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with interment to follow in Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, Ohio.
