Mary Jane Rees, 84, of Piqua, formerly of Troy and Casstown, died as the results of an automobile accident on Wed., 04/23/2003 in Maysville, Kentucky. She was born October 14, 1918 in the Bradford, Ohio area to the late Charles Franklin and Mina Elizabeth Hall Cavender. Her husband, Ralph Everett Rees was also killed in the automobile accident. She is survived by 1 child, Christy Jane Rees Howard, and her husband, James Patrick Howard of Hamilton, Ohio. Also surviving a 4 grandchildren; James Patrick Howard II of Silver Springs, MD., Gabrielle Raine Howard, Caitlin Elizabeth Howard, and Joseph Priestly Howard all of Hamilton, Ohio. 1 Brother proceeded her in death, Robert Cavender. Mrs. Rees was an accomplished Musician, and played the Violin and Piano. She was a 1947 graduate of Cedarville College with a Bachelor of Education. She was a longtime Elementary School Teach within the Troy City Schools and the surrounding area. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
