MARY JANE (MADIGAN) MOYER
MARY JANE (MADIGAN) MOYER, age 92, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at SpringMeade Healthcare Center in Tipp City. She was born on June 3, 1922 in St. Marys, OH to the late James and Catherine (Noonan) Madigan. Her husband, Richard J. Moyer, preceded her in death on February 7, 2002.
Mary Jane is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Jenni Moyer of Cincinnati, John and Ann Moyer of Troy, Paul and Julie Moyer of Findlay, Tom and Ann Moyer of North Canton, Greg and Dava Moyer of Moundsville, WV; daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Tom Behm of Troy and Carol and Dan Wallace of Beavercreek; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jim and Josie Madigan of Sarasota, FL, Tom Madigan of Dayton, and Robert Madigan of Troy; sister and brother-in-law: Rita and Gene Groff of Tipp City; sister-in-law: Evelyn Madigan of Troy; grandchildren: Adam (Tricia) Moyer, Leah (Brad) Suder, Chris (Colleen) Behm, Abby Behm, Sarah (Ethan) Parsons, Thomas Moyer, Cory Wallace, Taylor Wallace, Timothy Moyer and Anthony Moyer; and great grandchildren: Louie and Mia Moyer and Thomas and William Behm. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by daughter: Mary Ann Moyer Clauss; one grandson; sister: Catherine Moloney; and brother: Dan Madigan.
Mary Jane was a longtime active member with St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, where she coordinated bereavement meals for the church for many years. She was volunteer coordinator of Troy Salvation Army and also volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul and FISH. She was a graduate of Wapakoneta St. Joseph High School. Along with her husband, they received the Troy Sertoma Service to Mankind Award in 1995. She was a recipient of the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award. Mary Jane was formerly employed at Hobart Corporation, C. Harry Houser and Sons and McCrory's Store in Troy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Friends may call from 3-6 PM on Sunday and 9:30-10:00 AM on Monday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with a Rosary Service at 5:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
