Mary Lyne Robinson Holcomb, 91, born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on July 22 1919 and passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011. Preceded in death by her parents: Nancy Elizabeth Lyne and Theodore Curry Robinson, beloved sisters, Elizabeth the late Joe Robb and Connette Joe Gayle. Her husband of fifty years, James William Holcomb, mother and father in law, Beatrice and William Holcomb, sisters in law Vivian and the late EJ Good, Katherine and the late Lanier Lukins, LaVerne and the late Ruey Blackburn. Survived by her three children: James Sonja Holcomb, Theodore Holcomb, and Elizabeth John Kerr. Seven grandchildren: James Samantha Kerr, Elizabeth Bradley Jamie LeDoux, William Holcomb, Matthew Minouche Holcomb, Ashley Tony Munafo, Theo Kerr, and Brett Holcomb. Seven great grandchildren: Elizabeth LeDoux, Finn Holcomb, Tee Munafo, Stephen LeDoux, Sam Holcomb, Bennett Munafo and Henry LeDoux. Lyne was the beloved aunt of her many nieces and nephews and a shining light for all of her family. Lyne and Jay Holcomb were established members of the First United Methodist Church of Troy. Lyne served many roles through out her membership: Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School, Faith Hope Circle, a Board Member of the Church for years, and many other functions through out their years there. She and Jay were charter member of the Troy FISH which was founded in 1969. Lyne remained a Coordinator of FISH until December of 2010 and was the Past President of the Board. She and Jay also organized the FISH program in Sidney, Ohio. The two of them worked with Mable and Ward Cain to start the Trojan Horse 4H Club and served as advisors for over 16 years. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Krazy Quilters Club as well as a member of the Mother's Club. Lyne graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and an alumni of the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority along with her mother, sister Connette and her daughter. A recipient of the Sertoma Award for outstanding service to the community, Lyne lived a life of sharing and giving to others. Lyne enjoyed tennis, swimming, horse back riding and knitting, but most of all simply being in the midst of her loving family in the vacation mountain home in Tennessee she gave to her family per perpetuity so that "family" would always have a place that is home. She leaves a legacy of love and unconditional support to all who knew her; she will be missed and treasured by those she leaves behind. MIZPAH, engraved in her and Jay's wedding rings and hearts, "May the Lord watch between me and thee while we are absent one from the other." Visitation is 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 110 West Franklin Street, Troy, Ohio the Celebration of Lyne service to begin at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.
