Mary K. Cron, 90, originally of Troy, Ohio, died at 5:30AM on Monday, December 15, 2003 at Mason City Area Nursing Home in Mason City, Illinois. A memorial service will be held for family and friends in Troy, Ohio at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel on Saturday, December 20 at 3:00PM. There will be a private visitation for family at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio and the burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Ohio on Saturday, December 20. Mary was born February 2, 1913 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of George and Margaret Weishardt Washing. She married Robert D. Cron in 1938 in Piqua, Ohio. He died in 1996. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jerry Wessels of Lincoln, Illinois and one grandson, Scott Wessels of Arlington, Virginia and one granddaughter, Heidi Wessels of Des Moines, Iowa. Other survivors include several nieces and nepphews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and three brothers. Mary was active in her church and a volunteer in her community for several years. Her volunteering included the American Red Cross, Girl Scouts of America, and other organizations. She loved to play golf. During the past several years she has lived in Illinois to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She will be missed very much.
