Mary Ellen Christian Mary Ellen Christian, age 84, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:37AM on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born on December 13, 1924 in Miami County, Ohio, to the late Lee and Mary Putterbaugh Mohler. Her husband of 66 years, Charles A. Christian, survives. Other survivors include four children: Doug and Sandy Christian of Troy, Beverly Christian of Marion, Indiana, Connie Christian and friend, Jane Hunt of Troy and Bill and Julie Christian of Sidney, Ohio; five grandchildren: Kimberly Sizelove Adrian VanAlphen of Bowling Green, Ohio, Melinda Matt Arminio of Hamilton, Ohio, Christopher Sizelove of Arlington, Virginia, Kelli Mike Day of Dallas, Georgia and Beth Don Groff of Oakwood, Ohio; and great-grandchildren: Megan and Alexander VanAlphen, Sarah Knox, Zachary Knox, Jacob Philpot, Cimantha Veale, Makenzie Day, Ginnabeth Day, Easton Day and Madeline Groff. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Christian was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Jean Morrissey. Mrs. Christian was a graduate of Newton High School. She loved nature, birds, animals and her family. A pastime of hers was watching and feeding hummingbirds and working in her yard. A memorial service will be held at 7:30PM on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call from 5-7:30PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
