Mary Pearl Broughton,78, of Troy passed away Friday night, November 1, 2002 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1924 in Troy. The daughter of Harry and Nellie Powell Meek. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Santford K. Broughton. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Donald Meek of Troy, Irvin Meek of Pontiac, Mi; Kenneth Meek of Kent, Ohio. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Grace McGuire of Piqua, Ohio; Barbara Putterbaugh of Piqua; Clara Belle Tobias of Miamisburg, Ohio and Martha McGuire of Miamisburg, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Meek. She was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple and retired from Troy Sunshade & member of the Quarter Century Club. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 5 at Baird Funeral Home, 555 Market Street in Troy, with the Dr. Rick Arrowood officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Baird Funeral Home. Burial will be at Miami Memorial Park.
