Marvin E. Hotchkiss, age 92, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his residence.  He was born on July 27, 1932, in Marshall, MI, to the late Harry M. and Bertha (Krenerick) Hotchkiss.  On November 10, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland, he married Margaret "Susie" (Wickless) Hotchkiss and she survives.

Marvin is survived by three children: Cindy (Brian) Ault of Tipp City, Greg Hotchkiss of Troy and Blair Hotchkiss of Tipp City; five grandchildren: Adam and Wes Ault, Aaron Pike, Maggie Hotchkiss and Lukas Hotchkiss; and one great grandson: Benny Ault.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Lee, Duane and Owen Hotchkiss.

Marvin was a 1951 graduate of Marshall High School and a 1959 graduate of Michigan State University, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army.  He served for 2 years during the Korean Conflict at Fort Knox, KY in the 3rd Army Armored Division as a Tank Commander.  Marvin worked 4 years at Westinghouse Electric in Baltimore, MD, 2 years at McDonnall Aircraft in St. Louis, MO, 2 years at Omega Automation in Dayton, OH, Engineering and then retired after 23 years from B F Goodrich in Troy, OH, in 1991.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troy.

Marvin grew up on a farm in Michigan.  He was a 10 year member of 4-H Clubs and a Life Member of Troy Fish and Game.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
