Marvin Eugene Curtis, age 90, of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at his residence. He was born on March 1, 1921 in Troy to the late Joseph and Verna See Curtis. He married Phyllis Patricia Lawrence Curtis on August 22, 1953 in Piqua, Ohio and she preceded him in death on September 14, 2009. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Judith and Richard Ritchey of Troy; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Douglas Curtis of Troy, Joseph and Monica Curtis of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren: Brian Ritchey and Jennifer Ritchey both of Los Angeles, California and Abigail John Goldfarb and Chelsea Matt Summers all of Columbus, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren: Henry Cowden Kress of Los Angeles and Lilly Goldfarb of Columbus. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother William Curtis. He attended Elizabeth Township School and was a US Army Veteran having served during WWII. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Troy and of Tipp American Legion Post 586. Marvin was a lifetime resident of Troy, Ohio and the co-owner of Curtis Trucking. A graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio with Veterans Honor Guard Services.
