Martha Jean Bowers, 86, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the Harborside Healthcare Center in Troy, Ohio. She was born on October 9, 1918 in Troy, Ohio to the late Oscar and Helen Luker Earhart. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley L. Bowers on May 9, 1984. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Nancy Swigart of Troy, Ohio and Sandy & Frank Corricello of Simi Valley, California; Step-daughter-in-law: Jeanette Wagner of Piqua, OH; step-daughters: Jane Ann Koenitzer of Covington, OH and Betty Jo Myers of Covington, Ohio. She has three grandchildren, Julie; Greg and Stacy; six step-grandchildren; Robbi; David; Richard; Mark; Dennis and Terri. One great-grandchild; twelve step-great grandchildren and two step great great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband preceding her in death are a sister and brother-in-law; June & Richard Meredith. She was a member of Troy Church of the Brethren, and active in church outreach programs; Ladies Lunch Bunch and choir of the church; former member of Troy Senior Citizens. She was a 1936 graduate of Troy High School; member of the class reunion community and the East End girls club. She retired from Hobart Corp., was a member of the Hobart Quarter Century Club; and the Hobart Retirees Club. Funeral service will be on Friday, January 21, 2005 at 2:00pm at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Rev. Sheila Shumaker officiating. Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 12 Noon-2:00PM. Contributions may be made to the Troy Church of the Brethren or American Parkinson's Disease Association.
