Marilyn "June" Somers, age 85, formerly of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:49AM on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Clovernook Healthcare Pavilion in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on June 14, 1924 in Troy, Ohio to the late Arthur Wayne Hansford Sr. and Mary Kroger Hansford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. "Jack" Somers, whom she married and 1944 and who passed away on November 22, 1992.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ed Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister Barbara McCarthy of Rockport, Massachusetts; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mary and Bob Tyndall of Springboro, Ohio and Marcella Hager of Eaton, Ohio; two granddaughters: Ann Ulrich of Michigan and Laura and Eric Joppru of Cincinnati, Ohio; and great-grandchildren: Owen Jack Cochell, Lucy June Cochell, and Carolina Rosalie Joppru. In addition to her parents and her husband, June was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Clark, and a brother, Arthur Wayne "Pete" Hansford. June was a graduate of Troy High School. She volunteered at the History Room at the Hayner Cultural Center and Overfield Tavern in Troy, and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Troy. She retired from Hobart Corporation as a receptionist. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Stuart Wells officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Vandalia, Ohio. Friends may call from 10-11AM Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
