Marilyn A. Matthew, age 70, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton.  She was born on May 14, 1953 in Dayton, OH to the late Elwood and Verla (White) Myers.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Jennifer (Matthew) Armstrong of Englewood and Bryan Collins of West Alexandria; grandchildren: Christopher Collins, Megan (Corey)Collins Underwood, Gabrielle Collins, Mariah Glover, Cole Collins, Damian Moler, Lacy Armstrong and Ryker Collins; great grandchildren: Aubrey Collins, Mia Murphy, Dean Murphy and Kayden Collins; siblings: Bill Mahaffey, Larry Hicks, and Gina Hatton; and extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years: Gerald W. "Jerry" Matthew; her son: Robert Collins; infant son: Clarence Collins, Jr. and siblings: Bill Myers and Audrey Reynolds.

Marilyn was a 1971 graduate of Trotwood High School, the Police Academy, and Cosmetology School.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Troy, where she sang in the choir.  She served on the Clay Township and Jackson Township Police Departments along with the Ohio Department of Corrections.  Marilyn was a former race car driver and a sharp shooter.  She enjoyed her dogs and horses, and crime TV.

Memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Troy, on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 6pm.
