Margaret A. "Margie" Thompson Margaret A. "Margie" Thompson, age 72, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 7:14AM on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born on December 18, 1935 in Piqua, Ohio, to Marion F. and Margaret Lucille Schimp Hemmert. She was married to Dr. Rodney M. Thompson who preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by her mother, Margaret, of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Rick Trotter of Tipp City, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Michael E. and Judith Hemmert of Troy; sister, Mary Elizabeth Hannahs of Troy; and grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin Trotter. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband. Margie attended Piqua Catholic Schools and she graduated from Troy High School in 1953. In 1956, she graduated from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing, Dayton, Ohio. She retired as a surgical nurse from Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, in 1999 and served in the nursing pool after retirement. Funeral services will be held at 7:00PM Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Friends may call from 4-7PM prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday morning at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care at UVMC, 3130 N.
