MARGARET Peggy A. JORDAN ROSS, 74, of Oak Ridge formerly of Tipp City and Troy, OH succumbed to lymphoma on January 25, 2008. Peggy was born September 24, 1933 in Troy, OH to Lawrence E. and Sarah McSwain Jordan, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also the adoptive daughter of the late Ruth Garrison Jordan. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul E. Ross. Mrs. Ross is survived by daughter Anne Garrison Ross of Oak Ridge, TN; sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Bill Loudin of New Carlisle, OH; brother David E. Jordan of Rock Hill, SC and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with her late husband, Mrs. Ross was the retired co-owner of Jereco Industries, Inc. and Ross Special Products, both of Troy, OH. She was a member and past president of Soroptimist International of Miami County and a member of Tippecanoe Chapter #307, Order of Eastern Star. Her volunteer activities included the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, the Troy Literacy Council and Miami County Head Start. She also served as a Stephen Minister at First Lutheran Church, Troy. A former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City, and First Lutheran Church, Troy, Mrs. Ross most recently has been a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Oak Ridge. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Tipp City on Saturday, February 16 at 11 a.m. Internment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Baird Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, February 15 from 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice, Oak Ridge, TN. or Heifer International.
