Marcella Ferguson Howard, age 75, of Troy, OH passed away on December 7, 2022.  She was born on March 26, 1947 in Sandy Hook, KY to the late Curt and Ivory (Whitley) Ferguson.

Marcella is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Kristin and Jay Posey; son and daughter-in-law: Seth and Heather Howard; granddaughters: Claire Van Norman and Caroline Van Norman; step grandchildren: Corey Posey and Jake Posey; sister and brother-in-law: Marilyn and Bernie Mason; sister-in-law: Judy Ferguson; sister-in-law: Michelle (Jim) Ison and brother-in-law: Dean (Crystal) Howard.  She also adored her cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years: Michael E. Howard and her brother: Curtis Ferguson.

Marcella was a graduate of Sandy Hook High School, Morehead State University and The University of Dayton. She served as a high school language arts teacher for 35 years with the Troy City Schools.  After retirement, she consulted for Pearson Education, helping schools all over the country.

She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her puppies, friends and family, especially her beloved granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00PM on December 21, 2022 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Private interment to be held in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
