Marcella Hare, age 99, of Troy, OH passed away on March 30, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1925 in Yorkshire, OH to the late Emanuel and Ellen (Mangen) Groff.

On October 23, 1948 she married William (Bob) Hare who died June 17, 2013. She is survived by two sons: Tom Hare and Leonard Hare; two daughter-in-law: Dixie Hare and Patty Hare; one sister: Helen Russ; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons: Daniel Hare, Robert Hare and Roy Hare; grandson: Christopher Hare; daughter-in-law: Sandy Hare and brothers and sisters: Paul and Yvette Groff, Valery and Joan Groff, Francis and Marie Groff, Lloyd and Sally Groff, Richard and Viola Groff, Joseph and Dolores Groff, Mary and Wilfred Barga, Dorothy and Raymond Hemmelgarn, Florine and Francis Schmitz, Virginia and Bill May and brother-in-law: James Russ.

She graduated from Versailles High School in 1944. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy since 1948. She retired from the Troy Daily News after many years of service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
