Madonna J. Via Madonna J. Via, age 71, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 3:45PM on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Troy Care & Rehabilitation Center, Troy. She was born on December 17, 1939 in Ottoville, Ohio to the late Anthony and Isabel Bowersock Miller. Her husband, David A. Via, preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Nathan and Karen Via of Dayton, Ohio and Natalie Via and Michael Waller of Troy; three siblings: Lillian Carey of Chillicothe, Ohio, Toni and Robert Magnus of Coral Springs, Florida and Thomas Miller of Piqua, Ohio; and two grandchildren: Kayleigh J. Via and Matthew D. Waller. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Via was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Miller. She was a graduate of Piqua Catholic High School, class of 1957 and graduated from Miami Jacobs School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy and former member of the Piqua Kiwanis Club, Piqua Moose Lodge and Piqua Ski Club. Mrs. Via worked as a lab technician before becoming a homemaker and raising a family. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy, with Rev. Fr. Angelo C. Caserta officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
