LUTHER MCFARLAND

Luther McFarland, age 88, of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Koester Pavilion in Troy.  He was born on April 25, 1926 in New Boston, OH to the late Edward and Mammie (Vaughn) McFarland.  He was married to Ineze (Messer) and she preceded him in death on January 22, 1998.

Luther is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law:  Garrie L. and Barbara McFarland of Ludlow Falls; Carlas W. and Dona McFarland of Troy; Ray G. and Eloise McFarland of Troy; and Ronald D. McFarland of Troy; daughters and sons-in-law:  Debra McFarland of Troy; Teresa and Dennis Tubbs of Troy; and Robin and Loyd Alexander of Rock Hill, SC; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren.  In addition to his parents and his wife, Luther was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris McFarland, Mae Smith and Julie Carter.

Luther was a member of the Mid County Church of Christ in Troy.  He loved being outdoors, gardening, and cutting and selling firewood.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014, 10:00 AM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with the Pastor Nelson Swinehart officiating.  Interment will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Vandalia, OH.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the funeral home.
