Obituary

Lindsay McDougall, 89, of Troy, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was born May 7, 1919 in Portage LaPrarie, Manitoba, Canada to the late Lindsay and Minnie Cail McDougall. He is survived by his wife, Frances Irene Taylor McDougall; son and daughter-in-law, Brady and Sandy McDougall of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters and son-in-law, Wendy and George Shepard of Troy and Sherry McFarland of Palmetto, Florida; and three granchildren, Kyle and Ashley Shepard at Ohio State University, and Alicia McFarland of Palmetto, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean and Helen. He served in the Canadian Army during WWII. He was awarded the Queens Medal for volunteer work including Special Olympics and the hearing impaired. Lindsay was a member of the Masonic Lodge, former semi-pro hockey player, hocky referee, and played for the Canadian Army Hockey Team. He was the retired Director of Inspection for the Town of Mount Royal, Montreal, Canada and also former foreman with Expo 67 World's Fair in Montreal, and foreman for Ingersoll Rand. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are invited to express condolences to the family in person at 285 Crestwood Drive, Troy from 2 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, December 27, 2008, or through www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
