Linda S. Smith, age 76, of Troy, OH passed away on October 17, 2024 at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born on March 17, 1948 in Portsmouth, OH, to the late James and Helen (Caudill) Pennington.

Linda is survived by her children: Merlin E. Smith, II, of Piqua, Michele Hinrichs of New Lebanon, and David (Melissa Heckel) Smith of Marysville; siblings: Richard Snook of Portsmouth, Danny Pennington of West Portsmouth, and Paul Compliment of Tipp City; grandchildren: Amos, Zach, Megan, Molly, and Hiram; and two great grandchildren: Eddie and Harmony. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband: Merlin E. Smith, I; brothers: James H. Snook and Michael Pennington; and daughter-in-law: Melissa J. Smith.

Linda was a graduate of Troy High School and retired from environmental services at Upper Valley Medical Center.

Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
