Linda Lucille Payne, age 72, of Piqua, OH, passed away on November 13, 2024 at Troy Care & Rehabilitation. She was born in Troy, OH to the late John Richard and Agnes (Hines) Payne.

Linda is survived by her son: Jason Hicks of Troy and special son: Bryson Morris; brother: John "Butch" L. Payne; sisters: Karen James of Troy, Patricia Lambert of Arcanum and Shirley Persinger of Troy; four grandchildren: Tim Hicks, Jr., Rose Kaylin Hicks of Springfield, Nala Hicks of Troy, and Stoney Hicks of Troy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Timothy John Hicks; and sister: Barbara Arnett.

Linda was a 1971 graduate of Tipp City High School and a 1979 graduate from JVS in Auto Mechanics. She received an associate degree in Criminal Justice in 1988 and an associate degree in Commercial Arts in 2004, both from Edison State Community College. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Troy, member of the Troy Eagles 971 for over 30 years, and a member of the Redmans of Troy. She was a big fan of Ohio State, enjoyed fishing, and played women's softball for over 30 years. Linda loved her family and friends.
