LILLIAN BERNIECE STURGILL, age 82, of Casstown, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. She was born on January 11, 1933 in Derby, VA to the late Worley Gibson and Ada Rozella (Ward) Gibson. Her husband of 64 years, Leo Sturgill, survives. Lillian is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa Lynn and Michael Brush of Piqua and Tina Yvonne and Michael Hunter of Troy; grandchildren: David Bruce (Pamela) Williams, Jr., Jennifer Marie Scott, Christopher M. Brush, Roger Dean (Angie Noon) Hines II and Colt Lee Hines; and great grandchildren: Kasan North, Kolton Hines, Konnor Hines, Kaitlynn Marie Hines, Haven Lynne Hines, Ryan Michael Williams, Sarah Nicole Williams, Emily Grace Williams, Brooklynn Renee Scott and Elizabeth Rose Scott. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by siblings: Virginia Short, Omer Gibson, Allen Hilton, Herbert Ray Gibson and several other siblings. Lillian was a member of Troy First Church of God. Many years ago, she worked at Newsweek, McCall's and Elder Johnston. Lillian was a loving and caring person, known to everyone as "Granny". She cared for her own children and grandchildren, as well as others. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Michael Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery.
