Lillian Marie Godsey Rhoades Lillian Marie Godsey Rhoades, age 88, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 5:54AM on Sunday, February 20, 2011 Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was born on January 8, 1923 in Clayton, Ohio to the late William L. and Margaret S. Sanders Godsey. She married Roy Rhoades on June 21, 1943 and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1991. Mrs. Rhoades is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Bernard and Connie Rhoades of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Harold and April Rhoades of Katy, Texas and Charles and Aven Rhoades of Francitas, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Albert Godsey Jr. and Marilyn Godsey of Riverside, Ohio; two sisters: Mary Jane Lehman of Kettering, Ohio and Mildred Johnson of Piney Flats, Tennessee; three grandchildren: Chris Rhoades, Susan McGary and Jennifer Rhoades; and one great-grandchild, Kendall McGary. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Rhoades was preceded in death by five brothers: Claude, Elmo, Andrew, Earl and James Godsey; and two sisters: Ruth Campbell and Maxine Lawson. She was a member of Nashville United Church of Christ, West Milton, Ohio, AmVets Post No. 88, VFW Post No. 5436 and Troy Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center. Lillian and her husband, Roy farmed for many years in Concord Township. She was formerly employed at Stouder Memorial Hospital and later retired from Hobart Brothers Company. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Nashville United Church of Christ, 4540 W. St. Rt. 571, West Milton, Ohio 45383 with Rev. Lynn Labs officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Thursday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Troy Senior Citizens Center, 134 North Market Street, Troy, Ohio 45373.
