Lena Keiser Lena Keiser, 103, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Caldwell House, Troy, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie M. Keiser whom she married March 31, 1928; her parents William H. and Almeda VanKirk Earhart; three brothers: Ray, Robert and Harold Earhart. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Peter Nims; a son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Pamela Keiser; and a sister, Mabel Cain all of Troy; six grandchildren: Lori Viar of Battle Creek, Michigan, Julia Nims of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Annalee Walker Michael of Troy, Kim Keiser McCutcheon Randall of Bexley, Ohio, Susan Smith Steve of New Albany, Ohio and James Keiser, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; and great-grandchildren: Lane, Keiser, Teague, Harrison and Neve all of Bexley and Parker of New Albany; Joshua, Amelia and Jackson of Battle Creek and Charlie and Lena of Troy. Mrs. Keiser was born December 15, 1906 in Staunton Township, Miami County, Ohio and graduated from Troy High School in 1925. She was employed as a secretary at the former Gummed Products and retired as Assistant Probation Officer of the Miami County Juvenile Court. She was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, a member of the Alturian Club and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 256. Mrs. Keiser was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother and was revered by her entire family. She was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Rev. Stephanie Haines will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00AM-1:00PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Christ, 120 South Market Street, Troy, Ohio 45373 or Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373.
