Lawrence H. Reed, 81, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton after a brief illness. He was born May 26, 1923 in Lawrence County, Ohio to the late Floyd and Roberta Kingrey Reed. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Viola Slifer Reed, and two children, Sharmon Max Craun of Troy, Ohio and Melissa Arrington of Troy, Ohio. Also he has nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sister, Dorothy Hardy of Kittshill, Ohio; Darlene Stewart of Kittshill, Ohio; and Florabelle Barker of Ravenswood, W. Va. and two brothers, Claude Reed of Columbus and Lee Reed of Kittshill, Ohio. He was proceeded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Charles and Earl Reed and 1 sister, Ruth Ferguson. He was a member of Christian Chapel, Ginghamsburg; was a US Army Veteran, serving during W.W. II in the 18th Tank Battalion with three Bronze Service Stars. He retired in 1988 after 38 years with Pepsi Cola. The Rev. Jessie Tipton will be officiating the service with burial in Mimai Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. There will be VFW Memorial Honor Guard at the cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. Lawrence was a loving husband, father, grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
