Laura Ellen Workman, 65, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Saturday, December 25, 2004 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on July 5, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Ray and Fern Cole Fields. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Pastor Frank Workman and their children, Beth Workman of Troy, Ohio and Doug Diana Workman of Troy, Ohio; grandson, Brock Workman the joy of her life; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Roseann and L.J. Parr of Hammond, IN; Carolyn Small of Ft. Wayne, IN; and Cleona and Larry Francis of Ft. Collins, CO; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ruth Fields of Bronson, MI; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Frank Perrine of Sebring, FL; Bill and Wanda Shaffer of Elk View, W. VA and Lorraine Powell of Barboursville, W. VA; many loving nieces and nephews and her special companion, her dog Libby. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Ray and four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. She was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple. She was the secretary at her church, homemaker, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, friends and family members are encouraged to contribute in Laura's memory to a special fund through Troy Baptist Temple which among other things will include 'The Laura Workman Memorial Fund' to be used to buy new baby gifts. Besides her family she is sadly missed by her church family including the many 'adopted' grandchildren who refer to her as 'Workum.'
