LARRY E. THOMPSON

LARRY E. THOMPSON, age 68, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his residence.  He was born in Hillsboro, OH on October 8, 1945 to the late Herbert Eugene and Violet (Poole) Thompson.

Larry is survived by one son: Scott Andrew Baker of Texas; three daughters: Dawn Denise Thompson of California, Marie Thompson and Patty Thompson, both of Troy; one sister: Pam Wells of Bellbrook, OH; one brother: Stephen Thompson of Springboro, OH; one stepsister: Carolyn Price of Tennessee; six grandchildren: Justin, Alyssa Anne, Drew, Antonina, Alyssa and Ashlyn; three nieces: Tonya Wells, Kate Thompson and Elizabeth Thompson; one nephew: Douglas (Jen) Wells; and great nieces and great nephews.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one brother: Jeffrey Thompson in January, 2014; and stepsisters: Barbara and Marilyn.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of American Legion Post #43 in Troy.  He was self employed as an over-the-road driver.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Veterans Honor Guard services.  Private interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Friends may call from 1-2 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
