Larry D. Gilliland Larry D. Gilliland, age 70, of Casstown, Ohio, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Covington Care Center, Covington, Ohio. He was born on July 14, 1940 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Vional Gilliland and Dorothy Gump Gilliland Ashman. His wife of 50 years of marriage, Shirley A. Widener Gilliland survives. Other survivors include his three daughters and two sons-in-law: Beth Gilliland of Dayton, Ohio, Natalie and Mike Rindler of Troy, Ohio and Tina and Kevin Buntin of Troy, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law: Matt and Heather Gilliland of Casstown, Ohio; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Kay Francis and Carol and Earl Burley all of Troy, Ohio; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Jim Ashman of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Tom and Pam Ashman of Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren: Jamie Schindel, Corey Rindler, Kelly Rindler, Justice Payne, Luke Gilliland and Megan Gilliland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one brother, Don Gilliland; stepdad, Jim Ashman; an infant daughter and granddaughter. He was a graduate of Miami Central High School, class of 1958. Larry attended Cove Springs Church, Troy. He was a 4-H advisor and he loved bowling and playing golf. He was a soccer, basketball, softball and baseball coach for the Miami East school system. Larry was a manager at Hobart Brothers for 37 years before his retirement in 2000. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. Evan Garber officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.
